A tribute
This is a tribute to the cancer group SBCC started by Dr. Kalarani Sivakumar wife of oncologist Dr. Sivakumar. This group was mainly started to support the women.....to support those cancer patients and survivors who find it difficult to open up their trauma, feelings and emotions.
Having a dreadful disease is often one of the most stressful experiences in a person's life. A lot of women hide their misgivings out of fear. Some experience shock, anger, and disbelief. Others may feel intense sadness, fear, and a sense of loss. Sometimes even the most supportive family members and friends cannot understand exactly how it feels to have cancer and that leads to loneliness and isolation.
I was reading a few cancer poems this afternoon, I loved some of those poems. This particular poem really touched me as I read it and I felt it was an apt one for our group as we share a rare and unique rapport and love, who are always there for each other. Thank you Dr. Kalarani Sivakumar and Dr. Sivakumar, who are the unique purveyors of hope.
The Poem.
One Soldier
One lonely soldier marching on
Afraid of what's in store,
She was in a battle for her life,
Scared of facing more.
Her spirit soon were lifted,
At the sight of something new,
A fellow soldier joined her,
They were an army of two.
Once again it happened,
Someone joined them in the fight,
And that first lonely soldier,
Began to see some light.
They came in every color,
Both the young and old,
They stood together, side by side,
Their spirits growing bold.
They would fight together faithfully,
For this soldiers that is their friend,
Supporting her through the battle,
With love that has no end
